Our very own mathematics teacher, Sandy Locher will be receiving the 2018 Archdiocese of Chicago’s 2018 Heart of the School Award for Innovation. She will be honored at a luncheon where she will receive the award on May 16, 2018.
The Archdiocese of Chicago informed us saying:
Sandra Locher has been selected to receive the Archdiocese of Chicago’s 2018 Heart of Innovation, Heart of the School Award. Excellent educators are willing to innovate, infusing their work with the latest teaching practices and instructional technology. Recipients of this award reflect the ability to successfully serve students through adaptation and innovation. The Heart of the School Awards encompass nine award areas and two nominees were selected for each award area. We received almost 500 nominations of teachers, administrators and staff members were received for Heart of the School Awards this year. Sandra’s nomination was selected for this award because of her outstanding contribution to your school and the students you serve.
This is a great honor for Regina Dominican. This is the second year in a row a teacher in our mathematics department has received this award. Mary Stenson received the award in 2017. We are so proud!
