Two RDHS Seniors Receive Youth Appreciation Awards
Seniors Hailey Hoffman and Murphy Weiland received 2017 Ralph Lynch Youth Appreciation Awards from the Glenview Optimist Club on November 15, 2017. Hailey Hoffman received the award for excellence in the category of scholarship and Murphy Weiland received the award in the category of religious service. They were both recommended by their teachers, counselors, and clergy.
The Glenview Optimist Club was established in 1961 as part of Optimist International, a worldwide volunteer organization that was originally founded in 1919. Optimist International is made up of more than 2,500 local clubs whose members work each day to make the future brighter by bringing out the best in children, in their communities and in themselves. The Optimist motto is “Friend of Youth.”
