Senior Awarded Chick Evans Scholarship
Senior, Yaneli Urquiza, has been awarded a Chick Evans Scholarship beginning in the Fall of 2018. This is a full tuition and housing scholarship rewarded to high school seniors who have a strong caddie record, excellent grades, demonstrate outstanding character and are in need of financial aid.
Yaneli caddies at Glen Oak Country Club. During her time at Regina Dominican, she has participated in art club, orchesis and was the captain of the JV soccer team last year. She plans to study nursing in college. Yaneli states, “going to college to become a nurse is a privilege my parents never had. In doing so, I started off wanting to fulfill a dream my parents never could achieve but in doing so I found a dream I want to follow. A dream of learning an array of different things and continually challenging myself. Although I know college will not be easy, I wish to gain amazing experiences that guide me to make the right decisions in life.”
