Let Us Remember
“This Holy Year of Mercy is offered to us in order to experience in our lives the sweet and gentle touch of the forgiveness of God, his presence beside us and his closeness above all in moments of greatest need.”
– Pope Francis
During Advent, the Regina Dominican community prepares for, and awaits, the coming of Christ. Through prayer and reflection, we remember the yearning for a Messiah and our own yearning and need for forgiveness, salvation and a fresh beginning.
After enduring news of violence and hate, both near and far, in recent weeks, it can be a struggle to find a sense of togetherness in hope, peace, joy and love that symbolize the Advent season. In the face of these tragedies, let us remember that God entered our world, not as a conqueror but an infant, signifying the profoundness of God’s love for us and all creation. Let us remember the joy and beauty that resides in the world and in our hearts by knowing Him.
May we experience the renewed hope that Advent brings us and celebrate this true gift together as a community.
God bless.
