Dodgeball Tournament for Charity Brings Schools Together
March 15, 2013
The Regina Dominican community teamed up with Notre Dame College Prep to raise over 1,300 dollars for Misericordia during their semi-annual Dodgeball Tournament. 18 teams in three different divisions (Co-ed High School, Grade School, and All Regina) competed for the grad prize in the Regina Gym. Teams came from Glenbrook South, Notre Dame College Prep, Regina Dominican, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis Xavier, Saint Joseph, Saint Mary of the Woods, and Skyline Athletic Group. One team even included the faculty and staff of Regina Dominican who did not want to miss out on the action.
The tournament gave teens the opportunity to try something new and build community while giving to others. Students were able to participate in at least two games and the tournament included a girls versus boys two-minute match up. Ultimately, a team from Notre Dame College Prep won the tournament.
Regina Dominican chose to support Misericordia as part of the many service projects the school does with the Catholic organization. Students and alumnae volunteer at Misericordia on the weekends and support the Misericordia mission.
