There are new posters up in the Science hallway, thanks to our Anatomy and Physiology (mixed Level 2 and 3) students.
The students researched an illness / medical condition using the case study method and presented their work in a professional research poster format. They have to learn about presenting symptoms, interpret diagnostic tests and lab values. They then needed to provide an in-depth explanation of the physiology, treatment and prognosis for the patient. Teacher Therese Wildman said “it is the culmination of all the hard work they have been doing all year in class.”
This year’s research projects were on: Cystic Fibrosis, Lower Extremity Paralysis, Early Onset Alzheimer’s, Hemophilia 4, Paraplegia, Genetic Liver Disease, Conn’s Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, and Multiple Sclerosis. We recommend family members looking at the framed posters on the first floor when you are in the building next!
