Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights.

AI's vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

This year the Amnesty International group is taking a different approach to our work. We have broken into small groups that will each focus on the culture of specific countries; Chechnya , Colombia , and India . As gain knowledge about these countries and the many complexities of them, we will share our findings within the broader group. After learning about these countries, we can then decide to take action. One thing we will do is what is usually associated with Amnesty International groups, letter writing and campaigning. Another goal for the year, after our research, is to reach out and educate others about the people, history, culture, and the subsequent human rights situations in the countries that we have studied.
